Class Projects - Fall 2011

A quick look at the news in a mobile-friendly format.

What it does

The system is designed for someone who likes to keep up with the big news stories of the day, but has a limited time frame – say waiting for the bus, or riding the train to work – in which to do so. The system is implemented as a mobile-optimized website that provides the user a brief, easy-to-read news package that can be consumed within a pre-selected amount of time.

Users can select increments of two or ten minutes. The two-minute selection provides a brief collection of top news stories arranged by category, while the ten-minute selection provides both the briefs and in-depth opinion pieces. All stories are selected for the user and displayed on a single page – no navigation by the user is required.
